Purchasing One of Our Beagles
We take pride in
breeding our quality beagles and will only sell our puppies to
screened, loving homes who prove to us they are responsible
people. For that purpose we have contracts whether it be show or
pet quality. We do put people on a waiting list and have you
E-mail or write to us about your interest in a beagle.
We fit the right
puppy to the right family environment and that is why we
temperament test them at 7 weeks of age. Puppies do not leave
our premises before 8 weeks of age. When they leave they have
had their first DALPP and Bordatella vaccinations and have been
de-wormed. I do not inform the next person on the waiting list
that I have puppies until they are 3 weeks old (which means they
have a good survival rate).
Puppies
are a very big responsibility, so if you think I am sometimes
discouraging you, you are probably right. Be aware of the
responsibility for a good 13-17 years and make sure this is the
breed for you.
Sometimes I work
out my show prospects on a co-ownership basis and do not charge
any more for a show prospect than a pet quality beagle. My
beagle puppies are whelped indoors where I can see everything
that is going on. The pups are touched from Day 1 and everyday,
petted, stroked and talked to. When they are able to walk they
have playtime in my large, supervised kitchen so they can learn
how to play and interact with their littermates and are
socialized with people. They have heard all the environmental
sounds of a home and have already learned some of their manners
– the rest is up to you. I can educate you the most by
providing literature and am always only a phone call or E-mail
away.
Most of all, we
give our dogs at Meadowlands love and praise.
